Our Favorite Photo Spots on the Grounds

One of the most common things we hear from couples is how many beautiful photo opportunities they discover once they arrive at Beaver Station. From historic architecture to lush outdoor spaces, the property and surrounding Heritage campus offer a wide variety of backdrops that photograph beautifully in every season.

The Belvedere and Gardens are among the most photographed areas on the property. Surrounded by greenery and seasonal blooms, this space offers a romantic, timeless setting for ceremony photos and quiet moments together.

The front of the Station provides a striking backdrop with original stonework, arched windows, and historic details that feel elegant and authentic without feeling staged.

Inside the station, original details truly shine, from the beautiful marble mosaic floor and stained glass windows to warm wood tones, brass railings, classic subway tile, and soft lighting that add depth and character to indoor photos. These elements glow during winter weddings and evening receptions.

Just steps from Beaver Station, our museum’s historic Log House offers a completely different but equally charming photo setting. Its rustic character and warm wood textures provide beautiful contrast to the elegance of the station itself.

Along Third Street, the Penn State Master Gardeners maintain a thoughtfully designed garden with seasonal plantings, carefully tended blooms, and a charming arbor that offers a peaceful, polished setting for portraits.

Just beyond the station, the original rail line and train overpass offer a distinctive photo setting with an industrial edge softened by surrounding greenery. Couples often choose this spot for a few creative portraits that add contrast to their gallery.

Throughout the Beaver Area Heritage campus, hydrangeas, roses, and period-inspired plantings are woven into walkways, gardens, and gathering spaces, creating countless photo opportunities.

All photo locations are walkable and located right on the property, allowing couples to enjoy a relaxed photo experience and return to their reception sooner, spending more time with guests and fully enjoying their celebration.
